About my favorite works.

Let's start today's blog of mine.
This time, I will write about many things not having a particular theme.
First, I will write about my favorite movie.
Do you know the movie whose title is "About a Boy"? In this movie, Hugh Grant, a famous actor in U.K, plays a man who has no job and lives with inheritance of his father. This is a story about a little boy and a rich man named Will. One day, the man's best friend has a baby and says to him to marry, because to marry will make him have a happy life. But the man has never loved someone sincerely. He likes women very much, but it is just for fun of him. Then he has a good idea. It is the idea that he goes to a party which only single mothers and fathers come and plots to get a new beautiful woman who can date with him. He goes to that party and picks up a pretty woman single mother named Rachel. They talk about their son each other, but actually he does not have a son. He manages to survive from this situation. He begins to fall in love with Rachel seriously. This is the first real love in his life, he thinks. Then he gets confused because Rachel wants to date with him, his son and her son. When he tries to find a good way for that plan, a boy comes up in front of him. He is named Marcus. Will has never seen such a boy. Marcus needs some help of Will, because he has been bullied in his school. So he asks Will to harbor him from his classmates. At first, of course Will who does not like troubles refuses. But he knows that mother of Marcus is friend of Rachel. Marcus’s mother is a strange and unsettled state of mind woman. So Marcus is confusing not only about his being bullied but also his mother. Sometimes his mother named Fiona tries to commit suicide. She hardly cares about her son, Marcus and does domestic duties. Marcus hears Will’s plan and says that if Will helps him, he will pretend to be his son. Instead he cooperate with Will, Will has to make his mother more cheerful and positive. Thorough this communication, Marcus, Will and Fiona grow up each other. And at the end of story, the relationship with Marcus and Fiona becomes a little bit good. Will grows up mentally.
I had to read this original text for my homework in high school days. At first, I did not want to read such a long story. But reading over and over again, I found it is great story.
This is like lessons of our life and really heart- warming. I think this is full with humanity and makes us think our daily life afresh. If you have time, I will recommend you to read the original text or the movie. Many famous actor and actress are in this movie. I am sure that you can enjoy it very much. If you choose the movie rather that the book, it will better for you to watch that with your family or friends.
Next, I will introduce my favorite book.
This is “Battery” and a Japanese novel. Here “Battery” means a pitcher and a catcher in baseball. A pitcher is really confident in him. And he hardly cares about other people. He is a talented pitcher, because of that, he is always isolated. One day, he moves to her mother’s hometown. Then he meets a boy who plays baseball. A boy is a catcher and really thoughtful. Though they are the exact opposite, they get friends each other. A pitcher is too confident and a catcher is too kind. Through baseball and friendship, they can grow up each other.
This is a story about junior high school students. But we can enjoy and sympathize with their feeling and conflict between ideal and reality. We can remember our original intention. I learned that by suffering from something people can grow up and see the wonderful future.

About my weekend and a movie.

Let’s start today’s blog of mine.
Today let me write about my weekend and a movie.
Last Friday, I watched a movie. I had been looking for.
The title of that movie is “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”.
In the movie, there are four main girls. They are Tibby, Carmen, Bridget, and Lena.
They are always together. But this summer vacation, they have their own plans. So they will spend their vacation separately for the first time.
Tibby is a realistic girl and usually does a part-time job in a super market near her house. She is going to make a short movie which films “losers of the life”. She has disliked her ordinary life for a long time. So she gets interested in other people who live boring life. One day, She meets a strange girl…….
Carmen is a pert and cheerful girl. But, at the same time, she is a sensitive and intense girl. Her plan in this summer vacation is to visit her father who lives in South Carolina. Her father does not live with her and her mother, because her parents divorced a few years ago. She has not seen her father and she is really looking forward to see him.
Bridget is really confident, lively and never forgets to be smiley. She is good at every sport and crazy on soccer now. But behind her smile, there is a big sorrow. Though nobody notices, it is the death of her mother. Since her mother died, she does not want to communicate with her father sincerely. To distract her feeling, she is going to take part in a soccer camp in Mexico. Then she meets a cool boy and falls in love.
Lena is a honest and modest girl. Her hobby is to sketch. She is pretty as everybody recognizes it. But she thinks people do not look into her deep inside. Until now she is passive. So she decides to go to Greece where her grandparents live and look herself over again. And to get courage. Then she meets a attractive boy and gets courage to be more positive.
One day, the last day the four girls spend together this summer, they go to a clothes store. And they find usual blue jeans. But actually it’s not usual pants. To their surprising, it fit everybody of them. They decide to wear by turns during this summer.
And they call it “traveling pants” and make rules about it. The rules’ name is “Sisterhood of the traveling pants”.
This is the story about friendship and shows that it is necessary for us to look for something precious for ourselves. Thorough their summer and the pants, they grow up gradually. Even though wherever my friends and I go, our minds are always together.
I can learn it from this movie. This is worth watching over and over again. You should check it out. “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”.
And next is about this weekend of mine.
Last Sunday, two friends of mine came to Tokyo to listen to a concert. This was held in Tokyo Dome City. So they had a plan to see me. We decided to meet in front of Harajuku station. But I had never been there. I worried about it a little, because I am not good at strange places. I managed to meet them and we walked down Takeshita Street. We could get many good things such as accessories, clothes, shoes and so on. It was a kind of refreshing, I thought.
In Shibuya, we went to a restaurant. There, we can eat as much as we like for 1,480 yen for 90 minutes. The name of the restaurant is “Sweets Paradise”. We had about 30 pieces of cake, some pasta and many kind of drink. It is just a paradise. Don’t you think so? It is great! But we seemed to have eaten too much. After we went out of the restaurant, we could not walk well. And next, we went to 109. In 109, there are many clothing shops. We wanted to get some clothes, but they were too expensive. So we had to give up. Hmm…sad.
This weekend was really fruitful and lucky.

About My High School Days

Let’s start today’s blog of mine.
Today, I want to write about my friends and high school life.
Last Sunday, one of my friends left for America to study English in a university in C.A.
Until she left Japan, she had prepared to take a TOEFL test and made a lot of effort to develop her English skills. She and I met in second grade in our high school for the first time. At first, she seemed to be a scary girl for me. But when one month had passed, we could make friends each other through a common hobby. That was that we liked English very much. We would often help each other at English classes. Now, I think that we could make ourselves develop skills. That is a really good thing.
Her dream is to get the prize as the Ms. Universe and help poor people all over the world. She is tall, because she was a basketball player. And she looks so good and intelligent. Sometimes she is funny and makes her classmates laugh. She thinks that she needs not only beauty but also sophistication. To achieve her dream, she needs to study about much kind of problems like poverty, HIV, environment, cultures, and wars.
So she decided to go to America to have a wider point of view. From this month to September, she has to a language school and study hard every day. Also to be accustomed to a new life should be needed. At first, she will be confused by everything she never know, but I hope she will be strong and live a nice days.
She has a dream and is trying to do a new thing. This is a big challenge. But she can do it and when coming back to Japan, she will be big!
I want to write about another friend of mine in America.
She is also my friend since the second grade in our high school.
She had taken tests of “Takaraduka” every year. Takaraduka is a Japanese opera group.
Although she never passed it, she is still dreaming to be an international dancer. So she decided to study in famous dance school in Broadway. The dance school is for young people who want to be a performer such as an actress, an actor, and a dancer. Lessons in the dance school are really strict and some teacher speaks in Spanish. So she sometimes can’t understand what they say and is at a loss. In her school days, she was not good at English very well, but after her entrance exam, she had studied both of dance and English for a long time. She is those who make an effort to make her dream come true.
I think she can overcome not only language barrier but also many things which she will face in the future.
My high school days were really fruitful. I could meet many great friends and teachers. I could get involved to my club activity. I could learn many things.
I do not have good memories in junior high school so much. So I think our high school was really good truly.
Our teachers taught us very strictly and when we broke school rules, they would often scold us. But we could take it obediently, because we knew that they thought us and we were safe under school rules. At first, we did not notice why they were so strict. But now, three years have passed, we really appreciate it. What we learned in our high school is food for the mind.
Our high school was a girl’s school and now is a co-education school.
Girl’s school is unique in various points, but is pretty interesting. We did not have to care about boys. We could talk many things each other frankly. We could enjoy ourselves thoroughly every day. Because we were in such a great high school, we could get true and precious relationships, I think.
A teacher once said “Friends you get in high school days are genuine.”
This has remained in my mind still now and I will never forget this. When I was a junior high school student, I thought a girl’s school did not fit me. But now, I think having entered that school was a miracle.
